7 Affordable Vegetarian Meal Subscription Services for Working Professionals in India, Ranked by Price (2026)
The cheapest vegetarian meal subscriptions in India that publish prices are Eat Right Up in Pune (Rs 133 a meal on a 30-day plan), Mealawe in Pune and Bengaluru (Rs 135 to Rs 140) and Myna Kitchen in Chennai (Rs 140 to Rs 160 for lunch). Food Genie in Gurugram costs Rs 229 to Rs 249 and Baesic Fit in Mumbai Rs 249 to Rs 269 plus Rs 50 a day for delivery. The Kenko Life in Bengaluru (Rs 275 to Rs 325) and Vibrant Living in Hyderabad (from Rs 375, 100% plant-based, not certified organic) are premium options. FreshMenu is on-demand delivery, not a subscription, and none of the seven prints an FSSAI licence number on its website.
The cheapest vegetarian meal subscriptions for working professionals in India that publish their prices cost Rs 133 to Rs 160 per meal: Eat Right Up in Pune (Rs 133 on a 30-day plan), Mealawe in Pune and Bengaluru (Rs 135 to Rs 140) and Myna Kitchen on Chennai's OMR corridor (Rs 140 to Rs 160 for lunch). The middle of the market is Food Genie in Gurugram at Rs 229 to Rs 249 and Baesic Fit in Mumbai at Rs 249 to Rs 269 plus Rs 50 a day for delivery. The Kenko Life in Bengaluru (Rs 275 to Rs 325) and Vibrant Living in Hyderabad (from Rs 375) are the two most expensive of the seven, and neither is a budget pick.
We ranked the seven strictly on published price per vegetarian meal, because that is what "affordable" means. All prices were read off each provider's own website on 13 October 2026. None delivers nationally. Each serves a single city or part of one, so your pincode decides the shortlist before price does.
One thing to settle early if you are a strict vegetarian: only Vibrant Living runs a fully plant-based kitchen. Mealawe says it can route you to a pure-veg home kitchen. The other five sell a vegetarian plan out of kitchens that also cook meat or eggs.
Key takeaways
- Under Rs 160 a meal, three services publish prices: Eat Right Up (Pune), Mealawe (Pune, with Bengaluru and Kota pages) and Myna Kitchen (Chennai OMR).
- Mumbai and Delhi NCR cost more. Baesic Fit works out to about Rs 299 for a single daily meal once its Rs 50 daily delivery fee is added, and Food Genie's listed plans assume three meals a day at Rs 229 to Rs 249 each.
- Vibrant Living is the premium option at Rs 375 and up, roughly 2.8 times the cheapest plan here. It buys a 100% plant-based kitchen with no refined sugar or maida. It is not certified organic, and its own FAQ says so.
- FreshMenu is not ranked. Its site is an on-demand menu that sends orders to Swiggy and Zomato, with no meal plan.
- None of the seven prints an FSSAI licence number on the pages we read. Ask for the 14-digit number before you prepay.
Price per vegetarian meal, ranked
| Rank | Service | City | Veg price per meal (published) | Shortest way to try it | Delivery windows | Vegetarian-only kitchen? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Eat Right Up | Pune (radius around Vadgaon Budruk) | Rs 133 on 30 days, Rs 200 on 15 days, Rs 257 on 7 days | 3 days, 3 meals a day, Rs 1,499 | 7 to 9 AM, 12:30 to 2 PM, 7:30 to 9 PM | No, veg and non-veg plans |
| 2 | Mealawe | Pune; Bengaluru and Kota pages | Rs 135 to Rs 140 (half meal), Rs 180 (full meal) | 5-meal weekly plan, Rs 699 | Lunch 12 to 2 PM, dinner 7 to 9 PM | Home kitchens; pure-veg kitchen on request |
| 3 | Myna Kitchen | Chennai (OMR, Velachery) | Lunch Rs 140 to Rs 160, breakfast Rs 120 to Rs 130 | 7-day Standard plan, lunch Rs 1,120 | 7 to 8:30 AM, 11:45 AM to 1 PM, 7 to 8:30 PM | No, pure-veg menu option |
| 4 | Food Genie | Gurugram and Delhi NCR | Rs 229 to Rs 249 | 3-day plan at Rs 249 a meal | All meals 8 to 10 AM by default | No, veg, egg and non-veg |
| 5 | Baesic Fit | Parts of Mumbai | Rs 249 to Rs 269, plus Rs 50 a day delivery | 5-day pack | All meals 7 to 9:30 AM | No, veg and non-veg |
| 6 | The Kenko Life | Bengaluru | Rs 275 to Rs 325, delivery extra | One Month Plan (52 dishes) | Confirmed at onboarding; no Sundays | No, veg and non-veg |
| 7 | Vibrant Living | Hyderabad (under 20 km of its kitchens) | From Rs 375 | 3-day trial at Rs 375 a meal | Breakfast 7:45 to 9 AM, lunch and dinner 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM | Yes, 100% plant-based |
The headline number is nearly always the longest plan. Eat Right Up's Rs 133 needs a 30-day commitment; buy a week and the same lunch costs Rs 257, which is more than Food Genie. If you are not ready to prepay a month, Mealawe and Myna Kitchen are the cheapest places to start.
How we evaluated
For each service we read the pricing, FAQ, delivery and refund pages on its own website on 13 October 2026. For Eat Right Up and Baesic Fit we also read the price data in the page source and store feed. Per-meal figures are either stated by the provider or are our own division of plan price by number of meals.
To be ranked, a service had to be live and taking orders, sell a prepaid plan with scheduled delivery, offer a vegetarian plan, and publish a price. FreshMenu failed the second test and Zomato's Healthy Subscriptions the fourth, so both are discussed further down but not ranked.
We placed no orders and did not eat the food. Nothing below is a verdict on taste, portion size or punctuality.
Hyderabad's cheaper kitchens are covered in an earlier guide, so we have not repeated them. If you live there and Rs 375 is out of range, start with our comparison of Hyderabad subscriptions that bundle snacks with full meals, which begins at Rs 99 a day.
The seven services, cheapest first
1. Eat Right Up (Pune): Rs 133 a meal if you commit to 30 days
Eat Right Up cooks from a cloud kitchen in Vadgaon Budruk and says it delivers "within a specific radius" of it, with a map checker on the site. Its Essential plan is one meal a day: Rs 4,000 for 30 days on the veg plan, Rs 3,000 for 15 days and Rs 1,800 for 7. Two meals a day is Rs 8,000 for 30 days, and three is Rs 13,506, about Rs 150 a meal. A 3-day trial with three meals a day costs Rs 1,499.
Each plan includes time with the company's dietician, Tejaswini Ghodke: one consultation on Essential, weekly check-ins on the three-meal plan.
The rules are strict. You can skip up to three meals a month, by WhatsApp only, with six hours' notice. Miss a delivery and the meal is left with a neighbour or security guard and counted as delivered.
What to consider:
- This is a new business. The site says it was founded in 2026, yet it also claims 1,000+ active subscribers, 4,500+ five-star ratings and "3 cities served" while describing one kitchen with a delivery radius. We could not reconcile those numbers and would not rely on them.
- The site is unfinished in places. A Rs 1 "testing plan" is visible on the packages page, the nutritionist's photo slot reads "Photo coming soon", and the page source contains a hidden footer line reading "FSSAI Lic. No.: [YOUR LICENSE NUMBER]". No licence number is shown to visitors.
Best for: Pune professionals near Vadgaon Budruk who will take the 3-day trial and ask for the FSSAI number before prepaying a month.
2. Mealawe (Pune and Bengaluru): the lowest price without a month's commitment
Mealawe is a different model. It does not run a kitchen; it connects subscribers to home cooks in nearby family kitchens and says it does not work with restaurants or cloud kitchens. Plans are sold in packs of 5, 10 or 20 meals. The published prices are Rs 699 for a Half Meal Weekly pack (Rs 140 a meal), Rs 1,349 for the bi-weekly half-meal pack (Rs 135), Rs 899 for a Full Meal Weekly pack (Rs 180) and Rs 899 for a Jain half-meal week.
Delivery is free on every plan. You can skip or reschedule a meal from the app up to a day before, and the FAQ says you do not have to eat the meals on consecutive days, because a pack is a count of meals. Lunch arrives between 12 and 2 PM and dinner between 7 and 9 PM.
For vegetarians, the useful line in its FAQ is that it can assign you a pure-veg family kitchen. Non-veg is an add-on, offered on Wednesdays and Fridays.
What to consider:
- Monthly pricing is advertised as "Min 25% OFF" but the monthly price itself is not on the plans page.
- Food comes from different home kitchens, so consistency depends on which one you are matched with. Mealawe says every partner kitchen is "100% FSSAI certified". That is its own statement; we found no licence numbers on the site.
- The ordering site is titled for Pune. Mealawe has tiffin-service pages for Bengaluru and Kota, but confirm your area in the app before assuming coverage.
Best for: someone in Pune or Bengaluru who wants ordinary home food at lunch and does not want to prepay more than a week.
3. Myna Kitchen (Chennai): Rs 140 to Rs 160 for lunch, with the clearest refund rules
Myna Kitchen cooks in Thoraipakkam and delivers along the OMR corridor from Perungudi to Siruseri, plus Velachery, including desks at Tidel Park and DLF. Its Standard plan prices lunch alone at Rs 160 a day on a 7-day plan (Rs 1,120), Rs 150 on a 30-day plan (Rs 4,500) and Rs 140 on a 60-day plan (Rs 8,400). Breakfast alone is Rs 120 to Rs 130. A weekday-only Office Lunch plan costs Rs 140 to Rs 150.
It states its cancellation terms more precisely than anyone else here. Cancel a day in advance and the full amount returns to your wallet. Cancel after 8 PM for the next day and you lose 50%. There is no refund on lunch after 8 AM on the day. It also publishes calories and protein for each dish and lets you pick a pure-veg menu.
What to consider:
- Vegetarian meals built around paneer, mushroom or broccoli count as "super meals", and each plan caps how many you get in a week (8 on Standard, 3 on Office Lunch). The site contradicts itself on the Essential plan's cap, showing 4 in one table and 2 in the text.
- Coverage is the OMR side of Chennai only.
- The site says its production kitchen is "FSSAI-licensed" but prints no licence number.
Best for: IT employees on OMR who want a predictable vegetarian lunch at their desk and the option to cancel single days.
4. Food Genie (Gurugram and Delhi NCR): Rs 229 to Rs 249, built around three meals a day
Food Genie cooks in Sector 57, Gurugram. Its listed plans are Rs 249 a meal for 3 days, Rs 239 for 7 days and Rs 229 for 28 days, with vegetarian, eggetarian and non-veg versions. The plans are described as three meals a day, so the real ticket is larger than the per-meal figure suggests: the 3-day trial is nine meals, or Rs 2,241 by our arithmetic, and 28 days is 84 meals, or Rs 19,236.
By default all three meals arrive together between 8 and 10 AM. Having lunch and dinner delivered separately costs an extra Rs 49 to Rs 99 a day depending on distance. You can pause or carry forward a day's meals by 6 PM the evening before. Delivery is free inside its service area.
What to consider:
- The kitchen cooks in A2 desi ghee, cold-pressed mustard oil and olive oil. That is vegetarian but not vegan.
- The footer carries an "FSSAI Certified" badge with no licence number beside it.
- "Delhi NCR" is the stated service area, but the kitchen and the free-delivery zone are centred on Gurugram. Check before assuming Noida or East Delhi.
Best for: Gurugram households or couples who want all three meals handled and would otherwise hire a cook.
5. Baesic Fit (Mumbai): Rs 249 to Rs 269, plus Rs 50 a day
Baesic Fit delivers in "parts of Mumbai", in its own words. Its Calorie Smart Plan (a plan name, not a separate company) is its lowest-priced option: the meal plan page shows it starting from Rs 249 a meal, and the store's product feed lists the vegetarian version at Rs 269 for a 5-day pack, Rs 259 for 10 days and Rs 249 for 20 or 30 days. The Protein-First plan runs Rs 269 to Rs 289.
The delivery fee changes the maths. It is Rs 50 a day whatever you order, so one lunch a day on the 20-day pack costs about Rs 299 all in, while four meals a day spreads the same Rs 50 thinly. Everything for the day arrives in one drop between 7 and 9:30 AM, seven days a week. The 5-day and 10-day packs have unlimited validity; the 20-day pack must be used within 45 days and the 30-day pack within 60.
What to consider:
- The plan page's static HTML shows Rs 289, Rs 279 and Rs 269 before you select options, which matches the Protein-First plan. Check the cart total for the plan you actually pick.
- The store's pickup widget still shows a template address ("123 John Doe Street").
- Meals are blast-chilled and meant to be reheated.
- Its keto plan is advertised with "lose upto 10% of body weight in 10 days". Ignore that claim.
Best for: Mumbai professionals who count calories and prefer a single morning delivery.
6. The Kenko Life (Bengaluru): Rs 275 to Rs 325, and you commit for months
The Kenko Life sells lunch-and-dinner plans in Bengaluru at Rs 325 a meal for one month (52 dishes), Rs 300 on a two-month plan and Rs 275 on three months. "Delivery charges apply" on all three, and the amount is not published. You can choose veg, non-veg or a mix by day, cancel the next day's meal until 6 PM, and pause from the app.
What to consider:
- The One Month Plan comes to Rs 16,900 before delivery, by our arithmetic.
- Its refund policy reprices the meals you have already eaten if you cancel before completing the commitment period.
- There are no Sunday deliveries and no dedicated vegan plan.
- The site quotes outcome figures such as "3x more sustained energy" and "45% greater muscle response" with no study cited. Treat them as advertising.
Best for: Bengaluru professionals who want lunch and dinner planned and will stay for a quarter. Mealawe is roughly half the cost.
7. Vibrant Living (Hyderabad): the premium option, from Rs 375
Vibrant Living is the most expensive service here and is not affordable next to a Rs 133 plan. It is on this page because it is the only fully plant-based kitchen of the seven, which for some readers matters more than price.
The subscription site lists a Signature Meal Plan, a Daily Salad Lunch Plan and a customisable plan, each "from Rs 375 per meal", and a Detox Plan from Rs 1,800 a day. A one-time 3-day trial is offered at Rs 375 a meal. The company, founded by holistic nutritionist Sridevi Jasti, says it launched meal subscriptions in 2013. It lists outlets at Prashanth Hills in Raidurg, Jubilee Hills and Hyderabad airport, and its FAQ says it tries to serve within a commuting distance of under 20 km of its kitchens.
What does the extra money buy, going by what the company itself states? A 100% plant-based menu. No refined sugar, maida or artificial additives. Ingredients sourced from "small & local farmers who practice natural farming methods". Its sample day includes jowar idli with coconut-almond chutney and quinoa pulao with amaranth saag poriyal.
On organic claims the company is careful. Its own FAQ says "while we aren't 100% organic", it sources from "trusted small farmers" who may not "have organic certifications". So this is not a certified-organic service and does not claim to be. We weigh that kind of disclosure in our guide to verifying organic claims from plant-based meal services.
Skip a meal by 5 PM the previous day and you are not charged; the balance goes to a wallet. But the FAQ is blunt that "technically, you can't cancel a plan".
What to consider:
- Price. Twenty weekday lunches cost at least Rs 7,500, against about Rs 2,700 at Mealawe. The site says pricing "varies with the plan" and with customisation, so Rs 375 is a floor. Custom diets cost extra.
- Lunch and dinner normally arrive together at midday; a separate dinner delivery has to be requested.
- Menus can change the night before, depending on produce.
- It is sometimes described as satvic or free of onion and garlic. We found neither claim on its website, and garlic appears in the ingredient lists of several of its own products.
- No FSSAI licence number appears on its home, contact, terms or subscription pages.
Best for: Hyderabad professionals who specifically want vegan, refined-sugar-free meals and have accepted the price. Our breakdown of why a healthy organic meal in Hyderabad costs so much explains where the money goes.
What a month of lunches actually costs
Per-meal prices are quoted on different pack sizes, so here is the cheapest way to buy roughly a month of vegetarian lunches from each service. Totals are our arithmetic from the published prices.
| Service | Pack used | Meals | Pack price | Delivery | Effective cost per meal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mealawe | Two bi-weekly half-meal packs | 20 | Rs 2,698 | Free | Rs 135 |
| Eat Right Up | Essential, 30 days, veg | 30 | Rs 4,000 | No separate fee listed | Rs 133 |
| Myna Kitchen | Standard, lunch only, 30 days | 30 | Rs 4,500 | No separate fee listed | Rs 150 |
| Baesic Fit | Calorie Smart veg, lunch, 20 days | 20 | Rs 4,980 | Rs 1,000 (Rs 50 a day) | Rs 299 |
| Vibrant Living | Signature plan at the floor price | 20 | From Rs 7,500 | Not stated | From Rs 375 |
| The Kenko Life | One Month Plan (lunch and dinner) | 52 | Rs 16,900 | Charged, amount not published | Rs 325 plus delivery |
| Food Genie | 28 days, three meals a day | 84 | Rs 19,236 | Free in service area | Rs 229 |
Read this table by the pack price column. Food Genie has the fourth-lowest per-meal price and the highest monthly bill, because you are buying 84 meals.
Why FreshMenu and Zomato are not in the ranking
FreshMenu often appears in lists like this one. Its site shows 40 kitchens across Bengaluru (20), NCR (12) and Mumbai (8), and the menu on the day we checked had 131 dishes, 44 of them vegetarian. What the FreshMenu site does not have is a subscription. There is no meal plan and no prices on it, and its ordering buttons hand you to Swiggy and Zomato. It is on-demand delivery, with no plan price to rank.
Zomato is closer. In May 2026 it launched Healthy Subscriptions inside its Healthy Mode, with 3, 5 or 15-day lunch and dinner plans from selected restaurants in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Zomato's announcement gives no prices and does not say how much of the subscription menu is vegetarian, so we could not rank it.
Checking FSSAI and organic claims yourself
Every food business in India needs an FSSAI licence or registration, and the licence carries a 14-digit number. Here is what the seven publish. Myna Kitchen says its kitchen is FSSAI-licensed. Food Genie shows an "FSSAI Certified" badge. Mealawe says its partner kitchens are FSSAI certified. None of the three gives a number on its site. On the Eat Right Up, Baesic Fit, Kenko Life and Vibrant Living pages we read, we found no FSSAI statement at all.
That does not mean any of them is unlicensed, only that the website cannot confirm it. Ask on WhatsApp for the 14-digit number, look for it on your invoice or on the kitchen's Swiggy or Zomato listing, and check it against the business name on FoSCoS, FSSAI's licensing portal.
Organic claims have separate rules. FSSAI's FAQ on organic foods says the 2017 Organic Foods Regulations recognise two certification systems, NPOP and PGS-India, that organic food should be certified under one of them, and that consumers should look for the Jaivik Bharat logo together with the FSSAI logo and licence number. The same FAQ exempts small original producers selling directly to consumers with turnover up to Rs 12 lakh a year.
None of the seven services claims NPOP or PGS-India certification for its meals. Eat Right Up mentions "partnerships with local organic farms" without naming them. Vibrant Living says outright that it is not 100% organic. Treat "organic" on a meal-plan page as marketing unless the kitchen names the certification scheme and the certificate holder.
Limitations
- We did not order from, taste or visit any of these services. Punctuality, portion size and taste are untested.
- Prices were read on 13 October 2026 and can change without notice. Several are "starting from" figures.
- Most pricing pages do not say whether GST is included.
- No FSSAI licence was verified on FoSCoS, because no provider publishes a number to look up. No organic certification was verified either, because none is claimed.
- Delivery areas, subscriber counts, ratings and health-outcome figures are each provider's own statements. We did not test pincodes.
- Kolkata, Ahmedabad and most of Delhi outside Gurugram are not covered. That is a gap in our research, not proof that no service exists there.
- We did not open the Zomato or Mealawe apps, so Zomato's subscription prices and Mealawe's monthly prices are missing.
Conclusion
On published prices, the affordable end of vegetarian meal subscriptions in India is Rs 133 to Rs 160 a meal, and it is found in Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai. Mumbai and Gurugram sit around Rs 230 to Rs 300. Vibrant Living in Hyderabad costs more than any of them and is worth considering only if a fully plant-based, refined-sugar-free kitchen is what you are looking for.
Whichever city you are in, buy the smallest pack first, even at a worse per-meal price, and get the FSSAI number in writing. Then check the delivery window against your calendar: a single morning drop (Baesic Fit, Food Genie) suits unpredictable lunch hours better than a midday rider, a problem we cover in our piece on eating well through long working hours in Hyderabad's IT sector.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the cheapest vegetarian meal subscription in India with published prices?
Of the seven we checked, Eat Right Up in Pune has the lowest figure at Rs 133 a meal, but only on a 30-day plan costing Rs 4,000. Mealawe is the cheapest without a long commitment: its 5-meal weekly half-meal pack is Rs 699, or Rs 140 a meal, with free delivery. Myna Kitchen in Chennai charges Rs 140 to Rs 160 for lunch.
Is there a vegetarian meal subscription that delivers across India?
No. Every service here delivers within one city or part of it. Mealawe lists Pune, Bengaluru and Kota, and Zomato's Healthy Subscriptions cover Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore through partner restaurants. The rest are single-city.
Does FreshMenu offer a vegetarian meal subscription?
Not on its website as of October 2026. The site lists a daily menu with 44 vegetarian dishes and directs orders to Swiggy and Zomato. We found no meal plan or subscription pricing on it.
Is Vibrant Living worth Rs 375 a meal?
That depends on what you are buying. On price alone, no: it costs about 2.8 times the cheapest plan here. If you want a 100% plant-based kitchen that states it uses no refined sugar, maida or artificial additives, it is the only one of the seven. It is not certified organic and does not offer cash refunds after you subscribe.
Do vegetarian meal plans provide enough protein?
They can if the meals pair grains with pulses. The ICMR-NIN Dietary Guidelines for Indians say a combination of cereals, millets and pulses supplies good quality protein, and flag vitamin B12 and long-chain omega-3 fats as nutrients vegetarians find hard to get enough of.
How do I check that a meal subscription kitchen is FSSAI licensed?
Ask the provider for its 14-digit FSSAI licence or registration number, since none of the seven here prints one on its website. Then search the number on FoSCoS and confirm that the business name and address match the kitchen that delivers your food.
